The Chengdu high-tech cultural center
project shows the innovative green building in Chengdu, China. The Chengdu
high-tech cultural center project is located on southern development region in Chengdu,
where is important node in culture corridor of Chengdu.
The features of Chengdu high-tech
cultural center project include buildings and landscape aspects. The inspiration
of Chengdu high-tech cultural center project derives from ‘Urban Farming’. The ‘Urban
Farming’ means that visitors could feel immersive experience like in the
natural environment. The first picture shows the conceptual planning pictures
of ‘Urban Farming’. In addition, the following pictures show the design process of this
project.
The building type adopt stack-based
approach which lead to the abundant layered effect. Moreover, the design team set
up green roof and wall in the buildings. The plants species of green roof would
choose crop which could reduce the maintenance cost of green roof. The positive
effects of green roof and wall include reducing energy consumption, reducing the
effects of urban heat island and improving air quality. This design also provides
public communication space for local residents. The same design has used in
library courtyard as well. The following pictures show design sketch of the library
courtyard, green roof and wall in this project.
