Circular Pavilion by ENCORE HEUREUX architectes

In generally, the service life of building is 100 years, but a mass of building’s service life only has 30 years. In addition, removing the building would produce a large number of discarded concrete lump, not only bring the environmental pollution but also cause resources to waste. Due to the data of environment protection agency, the buildings’ constructing, repairing and destruction would produce more than one hundreds of millions ton construction waste. In fact, most of construction waste could be recycled and rebuild new building.

The Circular Pavilion is an experimental architecture built with reused materials in Paris, France. The project could remind citizens faced with the depletion of natural resources and implementing the principle of circular economy which is main objective of designer. The surface of project is 70 square meter. The picture shows the appearance and structure of this experimental architecture. The 60% of building materials are waste materials. For example, the designer collects 180 timber doors from demolition projects in Paris, the wooden frame from the construction site of nursing homes and so on. In addition, the furniture (e.g. 50 wooden chairs and hanging lamp) also from garbage dump in Paris. In fact, active using of existing resources will be a powerful tool for us to avoid waste and reduce resource losses.
