Kuanzhai Alley Project



The Kuanzhai Alley project is a historical heritage in Chengdu, China. This area has been rebuilding like an ancient street. The Kuanzhai Alley is composed of Kuan Alley, Zhai Alley and Jing Alley. In fact, every Alleys have different feature and show the different living style. The Kuan Alley present a ‘leisure living style’, which include traditional hotel, original trees and the traditional teahouse. The Zhai Alley show the ‘relaxing living style’, which cover western-style food services, coffee, SPA and healthy living center. In addition, the Jing Alley is a ‘new living style’ in this area, where is consisted by bar, club and recreation district. The first picture shows the appearance of Kuanzhai Alley project. The following pictures show the Kuan Alley, Zhai Alley and Jing Alley.




The Kuanzhai Alley project is a successfully historical and cultural sustainability project case. This area also is a conservation districts of historic sites in Chengdu.
The building material of Kuanzhai Alley project is an other significant feature. The building material of Kuanzhai Alley project include brick, wood and stone. The brick type also includes different time, such as brick of Qin dynasty, Tang dynasty and Song dynasty. These different bricks show the characteristics of the time and different decorative design. Thus, the Kuanzhai Alley project using a vivid method shows a historical and cultural sustainability region.
