Street of the Southern Song Dynasty in Hangzhou, China

The ‘Street of the Southern Song Dynasty’ is a traditionally famous cultural sustainability project in Hangzhou, China. This area also a historical district in Hangzhou, which show the history context, place special features, era’s characteristics and nature factors of Hangzhou. The first picture shows the appearance of ‘Street of the Southern Song Dynasty’.

The positive features of ‘Street of the Southern Song Dynasty’ include following several aspects: historical sustainability，modern commerce development and cultural sustainability.

1.   Historical sustainability: this area is a historical region in Hangzhou, which show the landscape and buildings type in the Southern Song Dynasty.

2.   Modern commerce development: this district is located on central business district of Hangzhou. Thus, this project also could develop local commerce at same time.

3.   Cultural sustainability: this project could provide a vivid case for local residents. In addition, these historical buildings could lead next generation to better understand Hangzhou’s history.
