The Moesgaard Museum project present a sustainable
culture, ecosystem and building material project. The project is located on Skåde,
Denmark. This building have green slope roof, which become a powerful visual
landmark. The first picture shows the appearance and surrounding environment of
Moesgaard Museum.
In the summer, the rectangle-shaped roof
plane could be use for for outdoor lectures, barbeques, picnics and traditional
Midsummer Day’s bonfires. In the winter, the slope roof would become sledding
hill. The outdoor space of project become an interesting public space for
residents. According to the Henning Larsen (2015), ‘The interior of the
building is designed to evoke a varied terraced landscape, which is inspired by
archaeological excavations as they gradually unearth the layers of history and
expose lost civilisations’. The second picture shows the indoor view of Moesgaard
Museum.
The selection of building materials considers
the technical settings, economy, durability, acoustics, colour palette, sustainability
and maintenance at the same time. The Moesgaard Museum is an aesthetic,
comfortable and energy-efficient building. Thus, this museum provides a
possible solution of cultural, biological and building material sustainability.
The following pictures show the relationship between local residents and Moesgaard
Museum.
